Agreement to Terms

Welcome to UniMarket! These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between you and UniMarket governing your use of our campus marketplace platform.

Eligibility

To use UniMarket, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a current student, faculty, or staff member of a participating university
• Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
• Provide accurate and complete registration information

Account Registration

Account Creation

When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

Account Types

• Buyer Account: Browse and purchase products
• Seller Account: List products (requires active subscription)

Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Provide false or misleading information
• Abuse or harass other users

Seller Subscriptions & Fees

Subscription Plans

To list products for sale, you must subscribe to one of our paid subscription plans. Each plan includes specific features and product listing limits.

Payment Terms

• Subscription fees are charged in advance (monthly or annual)
• Fees are non-refundable except as required by law
• You authorize automatic charges for recurring subscriptions
• We may change prices with 30 days' notice

Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds for partial months or unused time
• Your listings will be removed upon cancellation

Product Listings

Seller Responsibilities

As a seller, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful product descriptions
• Use clear, authentic photos of the actual item
• Set fair and reasonable prices
• Disclose all material defects or issues
• Respond promptly to buyer inquiries
• Complete transactions in good faith

Prohibited Items

You may NOT list the following items:

Content Standards

• No profanity, hate speech, or offensive language
• No misleading or deceptive information
• No spam or duplicate listings
• Images must be appropriate and relevant

Transactions & Payments

Transaction Process

• UniMarket facilitates connections between buyers and sellers
• Buyers and sellers arrange payment and delivery independently
• We are not a party to transactions between users
• We only process subscription fees, not product payments

Transaction Disputes

Disputes between buyers and sellers must be resolved directly. We may provide assistance through our moderation team at our discretion.

User Conduct

You Will NOT:

• Violate any laws
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Transmit viruses or harmful code
• Attempt unauthorized access to our systems
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Engage in fraudulent activities
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Spam or send unsolicited messages

Safety Guidelines

For in-person transactions:

• Meet in public, well-lit locations
• Bring a friend if possible
• Inspect items before payment
• Trust your instincts
• Report suspicious activity to campus security

Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform is owned by UniMarket or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content on the Platform.

Privacy & Data Protection

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Disclaimers & Limitations

We do not guarantee that:

• The Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Listings are accurate or current
• Products meet your expectations
• Transactions will be completed successfully

Limitation of Liability

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid in subscription fees in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution

If you have a dispute, please contact us at support@unimarket.com to attempt informal resolution before pursuing legal action.

Arbitration

Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except for claims in small claims court.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of [Your State].

Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending an email notification (for significant changes)
